After guiding Cronulla to their longest ever winning streak of 15 games in a row, Sharks coach Shane Flanagan has signed a new contract with the Shire club.
Flanagan was already contracted to be at the Sharks next season, but has agreed to a two-year extension.
The coach is in his sixth season in charge of the Sharks, and he was more then pleased to ink the new extension.
“The new contract and that I’ll be here another couple of years is reassuring but the club is heading in a great direction and I’m proud to be a part of it,” Flanagan said.
“We’ve had a successful season so far this year, but there is a lot of footy left to be played.”
Sharks CEO Lyall Gorman believes that Flanagan is the right man for the job, and was thrilled to lock him down until 2019.
“Strong football clubs have great leadership at all levels and Shane epitomises that,” Gorman said.
“He’s driven very hard the football component of our business and he’s been an incredible asset for our club.
“He’s a wonderful fit for our culture.”
